That's an amazing question. UNICEF might of took so long to come rescue Ishmael because they might of been waiting for the right time or perhaps they didn't know of the situation and how grave it is. When they learned of the war and what was happeneing to the kids they might of decided to go and help. They might of been held up as well because they were trying to get a team set up and supplies to go. Who knows why they took so long.

Going into a place where there is war is probably not the safest thing to do, so I agree that it could be a reason why they didn't go. When I think about it though, children are being involved in this, wouldn't you think they would risk their lives to save the children?
I would now, but I guess in the situation I would probably hesitate and need to build up courage to do it. In reality I probably would not be able to do it. I want to make a difference like saving children but saying and doing are two very defferent things. How about you would you risk your life to save children?
I'd love to think that I would, but like most people I would be very hesitant and reluctant to put my life on the line. I would want someone to save me if I was in that situation, but I think that I would probably not be able to go and save them at the risk of losing my life. Like you I do want to save the children, I just don't think I could bring myself to do it knowing I would be risking my life. I would probably work as a rehabilitation center staff member or nurse like Esther to help the children heal and get a second chance at life once they have been rescued.
